Seraphina and Sebastian were once lovers. On the night they planned to elope, Sebastian was gravely injured. Magnus, the clan’s patriarch, threatened to let Sebastian die unless Seraphina married him, for her unique blood could suppress werewolf genes. After Magnus’s sudden death, Sebastian mistakenly believed Seraphina had betrayed him and killed his father. He seized and confined her at the funeral, tormenting her in tangled agony.
