A Father’s Promise, a Storm’s Price

Shot top-to-bottom for smartphones, A Father’s Promise, a Storm’s Price is a revenge series where each episode plays like a single scroll-stopping scene. It runs 50 episodes of roughly one to two minutes each — about 1 h 15 min in total, easy to finish over a few commutes. Here is what the story is about.

Gene Chandler offers a 32-yuan contract to buy and haul the village’s durians, but Warren Hayes calls him a lowballer and whips up the village to hold for 45. Eugene Hayes signs to pay for his daughter’s surgery, as Warren offers cash to make him break it. Then the typhoon hits, and the real price is paid in ruined fruit.
